The life of a genius

Leonardo was born in Anchiano near Vinci, illegitimate son of Ser Piero of Vinci and mother Caterina. His father, a 25 year old florentine notary, descendent of a very wealthy family who owned many properties and lots of land.
1452
Leonardo da Vinci born 15 April. Remained in Vinci until he was sixteen.
1469 Leaves Vinci for Florence to became an apprentice for Verrocchio.
1472 At age of twenty, Leonardo enrolled in Guild of Florentine Painters.
1473 First drawing recorded 'The Arno valley'.
1489 Manuscript of first anatomical drawings dedicated to the structure of the skull and face. He also begins preparations for the equestrian statue in honor of Francesco Sforza.
1495 Leonardo begins 'The Last Supper' one of his most famous masterpieces.
He is also commissioned to decorate the great hall 'Sala delle Asse' in the Castello Sforzesco.
1499 Leonardo leaves Milan to return to Florence, passing through Mantua and Venice.
1475 Assist Verrocchio in painting the 'Angel' for the 'Baptism of Christ'.
1478 Leonardo's first masterpiece created 'Annunciation', he also paints 'Benois Madonna'.

1481 Leonardo began 'Adoration of the Magi' left unfinished, as he moved to Milan, he also paints 'San Gerolamo.
1483 Completes first painting in Milan 'Virgin of the Rocks', De Predis brothers collaborayed on this work.
1487 Begins to explore the flying machine, the artificial wing and human flight.
1502 Leonardo enters the service of Cesare Borgia as an architect and military engineer.
1503
Leonardo begins painting his most celebrated portrait 'Mona Lisa'. He draws studies of the 'Battle of Anghiari'.
1505 Leonardo begins his scientific studies on squaring the circle.

1506
Leonardo departs once again from Milan.
1510 He begins detailed studies on anatomy at the University of Pavia.
1513 Leonardo departs for Rome, once there living a rather solitary life, studiyng maths, technology and science.
1517
Leonardo is invited by Francis 1, the king of France to Amboise. He is commissioned to plan a new royal palace in Romorantin, he also works on his painting of 'Saint Anne'.
1519 Leonardo died in Amboise on May 2 1519 and he was buried in the Church of San Fiorentino.
